Saturday at 2pm…..For the residents of West Fork and Painted Rocks areas, there will be a fire information meeting at the ICP located at Scripps Yonder Ranch on the Nez Perce Road 4 miles west of the West Fork Ranger District. Weather: Isolated dry thunderstorms will be coming through this area mid to late afternoon. Wind gusts are expected to reach 20 mph. Temperatures will be higher and humidity will be lower. The burnout operation yesterday that covered about 4 miles along the Magruder Road was successfully completed last night. The objective of the burn was to get rid of unburned fuel south of Magruder Road and prevent the fire from spreading north of Magruder Road. Firefighters were on patrol through the night. As the effects of last week’s rain disappear, fire activity is picking up on the south side of the fire in the Lunch Creek and Grass Gulch area east of the Selway River and about 4 miles south of Magruder Road.
